ROMA, VICTIMS OF HATE CRIMES

April 25, 19:00, CEU Budapest, Nador u. 15, Auditorium A

The event will be livestreamed here.

Storytelling performance by RGPP students and alumni about hate crimes against Roma in Europe, special edition of the CEU Hate Speech Monologues, Co-organized with the European Roma Rights Centre and Peter Molnar

Roma people live all around the world and constitute the largest European minority. They speak many different languages and dialects, have very diverse cultures and histories, however they remain one of the most marginalized and vulnerable groups in the society. Throughout history, the Roma have been victims of stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, persecution and even genocide. Today, Roma are still facing hate speech and hate crimes. This evening through a theatrical performance combining creativity, the power of imagination and real stories, cases documented by the European Roma Rights Centre, we hope to give you an insight into the human rights violations concerning the Roma community. The event is inspired by Peter Molnar’s “Hate Speech Monologues” which have become a tradition at CEU.
